One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries. ~ A.A. Milne

I’m all for excitement, but unfortunately the discoveries you make when you have disorderly bookkeeping are often missed deadlines and the penalty and interest charges that go along with them!

Whether you operate a small home-based business or large corporation, the law requires you to keep adequate financial records.

You need to decide how you are going to track your income and expenses and how to organize all the bits of paper that prove your transactions.

For some businesses a simple hand written list with an envelope of invoices and receipts will be sufficient.  Other businesses need to use a computer accounting program and have a detailed filing system for their papers.  For most businesses their system will change as their business grows.

The best case scenario is to get an efficient bookkeeping and filing system up and running right from the start of your business activity.  However, it’s never too late to get organized.  If you’ve neglected your paperwork because you’ve been too busy doing the work you love, I can help you get sorted out and in control of the paperwork you don’t want to face.
